Who doesn’t love a good subway sandwich? Across the nation, there are plenty of places that serve up great ones from the small mom-and-pop stores to the larger chain sandwich makers. One such large sandwich-making franchise is Subway, a store that prides itself on fresh bread and ingredients and a menu that boasts Subway’s new sandwiches.

THE NEW SUBWAY SERIES HAS 12 DIFFERENT SANDWICHES

During the summer, Subway introduced their “Subway Series,” an upgrade to their already tasty menu that brought in 12 new sandwiches. Subway’s new sandwiches included upgrade ingredients that were part of a new “Eat Fresh, Refresh” campaign that started a year prior.

These upgraded ingredients included steak, premium Italian meats, rotisserie chicken, fresh mozzarella, avocado, and a number of new condiments, along with new and improved artesian bread.

Although Subway has a dozen new sandwiches to offer, customers still can build their own with these new ingredients. But Senior Vice President of Culinary & innovation, Paul Fabre, and his team developed these new sandwiches with the customer in mind. He thinks they are the best the restaurant has ever put together.

“These are the 12 best sandwiches ever created at Subway,” said Fabre, during a presentation of Subway’s new sandwiches. “We had all the tools in our toolbox to create the perfect lineup with the best combinations.” This new lineup consists of four new groups – Cheesesteaks, Italianos, Chicken, and Clubs, each category comprising three sandwiches.

We’re going to go in number order as you would order Subway’s new sandwiches in the store. One thing to note before moving on to the new lineup is that Subway has brought in Roasted Garlic Aioli (which had been highly requested) as one of the new condiments. According to Fabre, “The roasted garlic aioli uses three different garlic flavors. Customers can now get the aioli on any sandwich.” So, let’s take a look at Subway’s new sandwiches.

CHEESESTEAKS

#1 The Philly – Subway’s classic cheesesteak. The famous Philly is loaded with delicious steak along with a nice double helping of provolone cheese. It comes toasted on Artesian Italian bread and topped off with red onions, green peppers, and mayo.

#2 The Outlaw – This addition to Subway’s new sandwiches offers a great combination of juicy steak and double pepper jack cheese. Green peppers and red onions are combined with Baja Chipotle sauce, all laid out on toasted Artisan Italian bread.

#3 The Monster – Perfect name for one of Subway’s new sandwiches as we are moving closer and closer to Halloween. This one lives up to its name as the sandwich comes with thick juicy steak, bacon, and a double helping of Monterey cheddar. To finish it off, Subway is loading on red onions and green peppers served on their toasted Artisan Italian bread and topped off with a creamy Peppercorn Ranch dressing.

ITALIANOS

#4 Supreme Meats – Talk about supreme. How does Genoa Salami, Black Forest Ham, pepperoni, and new capicola sound? What if Subway’s new sandwich included provolone cheese, tomatoes, lettuce, banana peppers, and red onions on their toasted Artisan Italian bread with some MVP Parmesan Vinaigrette?

#5 Bella Mozza – For this Subway new sandwich you will get thinly sliced Black Forest Ham and new capicola to go along with BelGioioso Fresh Mozzarella. Included with that on the toasted Artisan Italian bread are tomatoes, red onions, banana peppers, and spinach with MVP Parmesan Vinaigrette splashed on top.

#6 The Boss – Hope you have a big appetite for this new Subway sandwich. Get ready for juicy meatballs, pepperoni, and BelGioioso Fresh Mozzarella. For added flavor, you will also get parmesan cheese sprinkled on it and this delicious sandwich is served on toasted Italian Herbs & Cheese bread.

#9 The Champ – Nothing like a tender hand-pulled rotisserie chicken. Especially when you mix it with a large double helping of Monterey Cheddar cheese, red onions, and green peppers. Top this all off with some creamy Peppercorn Ranch and please, take a bite out of this as it comes toasted on Artisan Italian bread.

CLUBS

Also included are spinach, tomatoes, red onions, and mayo, all slapped together on toasted Hearty Multigrain bread.

SUBWAY’S NEW SANDWICHES ELIMINATE “DECISION PARALYSIS”

The one thing Subway stores have been well known for over the years is the ability for customers to mix and match when they order. But over the past few years, stores have seen patience fly out the window for easier ordering and faster service.

So, with that in mind, they decided to change the way their menu works in an attempt to make ordering and sandwich-making an easier proposition.

During testing of Subway’s new sandwiches, the stores looked to see if the new sandwiches were getting proper playtime versus the other sandwiches on the menu, and what the stores found out was that the new sandwiches were being ordered at a 50% clip, or just as much as the other sandwiches on the menu.

This was great news for Fabre, as he and his team put in a lot of time designing the new sandwiches and sticking with the build-the-sandwich-as-it-says-on-the-menu model.

So far, a few months into the Subway Series of new sandwiches, it appears to be paying off. Customers are going right to the number of their favorite sandwiches and order as is. Apparently, speed is the new priority for customers and Subway is delivering.
