Where my cheese heads at? No, not the football fans of the Greenbay Packers, but the true aficionados of cheese–that amazing food that can be dressed up for guests or dressed down for your child’s lunch. It’s versatile, it’s a bit fattening, but oh so worth it. And, what’s more, is that if you hit up your local Costco at just the right time, you can get one of the tastiest, fanciest wheels of cheese for a low price. So low, you won’t even be tempted to steal the cheese (not that you would).

It’s true! According to Kitchn, Costco has incredibly delicious and high-end cheese for sale at an extremely good price. Istara P’tit Basque Cheese has been on sale at Costco at various times for $16.49.

No one can guarantee if you fly over to your local Costco that it will be there at this price (since they are always rotating stock), but it was spotted, documented, and shared. You’ve been warned. Costco has a lot of hidden gems, which is one of the reasons it’s so dangerous (have you ever gotten out of there with lower than a $100 charge? No, you haven’t.) But sometimes, there are products that you don’t know are the real deal when they are.

We’re here to tell you that this gorgeous wheel is soft, delicious, and versatile. So if you see Istara P’tit Basque Cheese for under $17, please pick it up. Some cheeses have been so in demand and so expensive that cheesemakers have considered embedding trackers on their cheese to deter fraud. The cheese game is intense out there.

Back to this beautiful wheel of cheese. It’s typically sold at a much higher price (twice what Costco is selling them at) and although it’s a cute lil package, it packs a huge punch. Mainly because you can do so much with it.

This amazing wheel of cheese is handmade with grass-fed sheep’s milk in the Pyrenees Mountains. That’s the area between France and Spain. It’s so specific and that’s what makes it expensive. It’s only aged 70 days (not long at all), so it’s smooth and buttery, and literally melts in your mouth

This cheese is such a superstar that kids love it as much as cheese fans who know what’s good and will go to specialty cheese shops just to get it. Costco is famous for having amazing sales on high-end products that only “in the know” folks may understand. It does the same thing with its tequila. There are three levels, and all are fairly priced.

Savvy shoppers know. And if you follow any type of foodie blog, you too can be in the know. The definite challenge is that Costco doesn’t have the same things every time you go. So, you have to do some studying!

This is just one of the Costco shopping tips you need to follow when you’re a member of the Costco Club. This club is elite, and it’s not messing around. Don’t go on an empty stomach and know what you need to stock up on. Don’t mess around with a place that will give you appetizers disguised as samples.
