Truth Social, a social media platform, was created by Donald Trump’s media company, Trump Media and Technology Group, in February of 2022 and is already causing trouble. The controversial social media platform was not originally released for Android users as it was in violation of policies that are in place to prohibit violence and threats. Additionally, Trump Media recently fired an executive for releasing internal documents and making strong allegations against the company for using seedy business practices.

Donald Trump is no stranger to social media and outlandish controversy. During his one-term presidency, he signed an executive order and attempted to ban TikTok after he deemed the platform a threat to national security. During his presidency alone, the man tweeted nearly 30,000 times, sparking much debate. With so much activity and huge opinions regarding various social media platforms, it’s no surprise that Donald Trump created his own platform, naming it Truth Social.

Truth Social was designed and created to be a space that promotes open and honest communication on a global scale without fear of discrimination based on political beliefs. The social media platform is similar to Twitter but different in the fact that it is attempting to be an uncensored version. Since its launch, Truth Social is already facing many regulation and financial issues.

When Truth Social was originally launched earlier this year, the platform was not available on Google Play for violating Google Policies. The specific policies that Truth Social was in violation of were in place to prevent the incitement of violence and protect users from threats of physical violence. Even though the social media platform was aimed to be uncensored, it ultimately agreed to enforce the policies and became available on Google Play earlier this month.

Last week, Trump Media fired an executive, Will Wilkerson, after he leaked sensitive internal documents that detailed complaints against the company and Truth Social. Will Wilkerson was one of the first employees for Truth Social and is now accusing the company of many issues and malpractices. With nothing but trouble associated with the name Trump and many displays and outbursts of bad behavior from Donald Trump himself, this comes as no shock.

The former Truth Social executive is making allegations of internal fighting and tension between Trump Media and certain CEOs within the company. Additionally, there are allegations of a sort of blackmail to simply give shares of Truth Social to Melania Trump and Donald Trumps’ two sons, Eric and Donald Jr. Wilkerson goes on to accuse the company of violating federal security laws.

The former Truth Social employee also shared other evidence that proves the malpractices of the media company. The evidence shared includes photos, videos, and documents that support the claims of violation of certain rules and regulations and have also been given to government investigators. The Justice Department is currently investigating all allegations.

Will Wilkerson was fired from his executive position and is no longer working for Truth Social or Trump Media. Wilkerson is accused of violating a nondisclosure agreement. Though a nondisclosure agreement may have been in place, as humans, we have a responsibility to speak up with something wrong is taking place.
