Breakfast fans are rejoicing after hearing the good news. IHOP is rolling out the proverbial red carpet in honor of its upcoming anniversary. But…it is not for a person.

The beloved breakfast restaurant is rapidly approaching its 65th birthday. And they chose to pull out all the stops in celebration. So IHOP brought back a perennial fan favorite for a limited time.

Rooty Tooty Fresh ‘N Fruity is back on the menu. Stop on into your local IHOP location to snag an order of this tasty combo while you can. The platter is only available for a limited time at participating locations.

And if you have never heard of this popular IHOP dish, here’s the scoop. According to the Idaho Statesman, “The classic breakfast combo features two fruit-topped pancakes, two eggs and bacon or sausage links. Fans can choose glazed strawberries or pick from three new toppings: blueberry, seasonal mixed berry or cinnamon apple.”

However, the best news is that it’s priced low enough to take the whole family (multiple times). The Rooty Tooty Fresh ‘N Fruity only costs $6 or $7, depending on location. And in these days of high inflation, that price is a steal.

The Chief Marketing Officer for IHOP, Kieran Donahue, said the dish’s triumphant return is to add a sense of joy to the world. “Our guests know Rooty Tooty by name, so we knew it was the perfect menu item to pull out of our recipe archives in celebration of our 65th year to share a nostalgic fan favorite with guests, and spread a little more joy this year.” And you get a little something extra if you order a Rooty Tooty.

Each time you order the tasty dish between January 26 and 29, the company will award triple points. All points earned can get redeemed for goodies. But you do have to sign up to participate.

The pancake chain decided to pair the fan-favorite dish with ongoing marketing efforts. One of the most prominent is the current #HowDoYouRooty? campaign. IHOP partnered with TikTok content creators for the marketing campaign.

According to the news release, the influencers will “inspire guests to express and celebrate themselves in an imaginative way.” But that’s not all in store for IHOP guests this year. The chain is kicking off a year of surprises.

While the company is keeping most of the news hidden for the time being, it did reveal a few things customers can look forward to. One is a long-requested cereal. And boy, did the powers that be deliver.

IHOP partnered with General Mills to develop an IHOP Mini Pancake Cereal – Blueberry & Syrup. The taste delight will hit store shelves nationwide this month. And diners also have something to look forward to in February.
As usual, the pancake king will celebrate National Pancake Day in style. On Tuesday, February 28, participating locations will offer guests a free Buttermilk Short Stalk. But, a note for fans of delivery services, you do have to dine in to snag this deal.
