No matter how hard you try, pet hair gets everywhere. It ends up all over clothes, furniture, toys, and bedding. And it is a huge pain to remove. Even washing items that will fit inside your washing machine will not always mean you can successfully remove those pesky hairs. Now, pet owners can finally rejoice. Help has arrived. Maytag just announced news of a brand line of washers and dryers designed with you in mind.

The aptly named Pet Pro system is custom-designed to handle the toughest of all things – pet hair. And this revolutionary washer/dryer system is the first of its kind on the market. So, while competitors race to catch up, Maytag will have a lock on the pet-owning consumer base.

Even better news for Maytag is that their launch of the new line comes when customers are hungry for innovation in home appliances and maintenance items. So, they will likely see a significant increase in consumer interest across all their product lines. And the innovative system may be enough to tempt cash-strapped buyers.

Years of work went into the design and production of Maytag’s Pet Pro system. Some nifty features include a Pet Pro cycle on the washing machine. If you have accumulated a lot of pet hair, simply select this option when you start a new load. The washer releases a higher volume of water to lift pet hair off the item, which gets trapped in a built-in filter.

According to the vice president at Whirlpool, the unique system outperformed standard washers in the testing phase. The Maytag Pet Pro washer removes up to 5 times more pet hair than their other lines. And, if the washer misses a few pieces, the dryer will catch it. The Pet Pro dryer features an optional extended dry time without heat that helps lift fur off clothing and other items.

All in all, the added help will cost you a pretty penny. The price tag ranges from $1,199 – $1,299 per unit, depending on the color finish. Maytag launched the new line this week, making it available for online purchase. For those shoppers who prefer to inspect their appliances in person, you can do so at Lowe’s beginning in October.

Despite how great the new Maytag system seems, a few individuals worry that the timing is far off. Consumers are navigating record-high inflation. And the looming recession is constantly discussed in the news, causing many shoppers to worry about their future spending. Due to these two factors, industry analysts are seeing a drop in discretionary spending. Big box stores are seeing a consistent decline in spending on specific product lines.

However, at some point in a product’s life, it reaches a point where it needs replacing. And washer/dryer systems are no different. So, whether they fall under the discretionary spending category is a question that falls into a gray area. When consumers finally have to purchase a new washer and dryer, the Maytag Pet Pro line may tempt them to spend more than they had planned.
