On Thursday, American car maker Jeep announced its most expensive Wrangler yet: the limited-edition 2023 Wrangler Rubicon 392 20th Anniversary. At over $115,000, the new Jeep Wrangler is definitely not a car for those on a budget, but car collectors and lovers of the Jeep brand are eager for the chance to own one of only 150 of these high-end vehicles. Jeep is just one of the many car manufacturers experimenting with limited edition and higher-cost vehicles, but the new Wrangler Rubicon is one of the most exciting to date.

In addition to the souped-up features and look of the limited-edition vehicle, Jeep also offers heavy-duty and off-road parts customizations on the Jeep Wrangler from outfitter American Expedition Vehicles, so this unique car can become even more unique to its owners. While Jeep is producing other 20th Anniversary Wrangler Rubicons, only 150 will feature AEV’s off-road customizations. According to CNBC, Jim Morrison, head of the Jeep brand in North America, said that, “Capability is king for the Wrangler,” and the price of the new Jeep Wrangler definitely reflects the off-road and heavy-duty capabilities of the vehicle.

Many car enthusiasts are loyal to their brand of choice, but very few are as dedicated as Jeep lovers. Owners of Jeeps are also more likely than any other car owners to add aftermarket parts and accessories to their vehicles, making the new Jeep Wrangler’s built-in customizations even more desirable. Off-road customizations on the limited-edition Wrangler Rubicon include 37-inch tires and AEV lights, bumpers, shocks, and skip plates that will help the vehicle perform well in rocky and rough terrain.

The new Jeep Wrangler is powered by a V8 engine with 470 horsepower and 470 pounds-feet of torque; it can accelerate from zero to 60 miles per hour in approximately 4.5 seconds, according to the manufacturers. The 20th Anniversary Rubicon will also include special-edition styling and badging, as well as a seven-slot grille, 83-piece toolkit, and beadlock-capable wheels, among other useful and aesthetic features. The vehicle will be as sharp on the outside as it is useful and high-powered on the inside, as Jeep prides itself on creating vehicles that not only get the job done but look good while doing it.

The hefty $115,668 price tag breaks Jeep’s record for the most expensive Wrangler Rubicon ever sold. Interested buyers can also purchase the 2023 Wrangler Rubicon 392 20th Anniversary car without AEV’s off-roading capability, for $94,485. For even more budget- and eco-conscious buyers, Jeep will also be offering a plug-in hybrid electric version of the vehicle starting at $71,380. According to Jeep, all pricing includes mandatory logistics and destination fees.

The Jeep Wrangler took the world by storm twenty years ago, and now this special-edition 20th Anniversary Wrangler Rubicon is set to do the same thing. Lovers of the Rubicon and the Jeep brand can be a part of Jeep history—for a high price. The company expects the limited-edition vehicle to sell well when ordering opens later this month, and for the new Jeep Wrangler to do even better when it arrives on lots in the second quarter.
