Coca-Cola has been getting very creative with its beverage portfolios as of late. In addition to completely redesigning the classic labels on its staple beverages, it has been making everything from coffee-flavored soda to a variety meant to be reminiscent of space. Now, according to CNN, the company is teaming up with iconic spirit brand Jack Daniel’s to release a canned variety of a Jack and Coke cocktail.

The upcoming canned cocktail version of a Jack and Coke will feature the classic tastes of both Coca-Cola and Jack Daniels Tennessee Whiskey as a delicious enmeshment. The drink is slated to launch in two varieties. A full-calorie version and a zero-calorie version will be made available so as to satisfy the palettes and preferences of as many consumers as possible. Take a gander at what the Jack and Coke cocktail in a can will look like below.

If you like what you see and can’t wait to get your hands on one, you’ll have to wait a little bit longer. The Jack and Coke canned cocktail will see its first release in Mexico. Coca-Cola detailed that it chose to focus on this market first because the country already has a well-established canned-cocktail industry. Thus, because of this, it feels that Mexico is perfectly suited to serve as a test market for the upcoming product.

Speaking about the partnership, Brown‑Forman (parent company of Jack Daniels) CEO Lawson Whiting conveyed his excitement about the partnership between the Jack Daniels Brand and Coca-Cola. Whiting asserted that the merging of the two brands “brings together two classic American icons to deliver consumers a taste experience they love in a way that is consistent, convenient, and portable.” Moreover, the choice to test the product in Mexico speaks to Coke’s larger goal of growing its presence internationally. Also, given that Mexico is located in Central America on the continent of North America it serves as a great reminder that those in the United States are not the only “Americans” and therefore are not the only individuals who represent the two iconic brands.

Coca-Cola’s new Jack and Coke canned cocktail is scheduled to make its much-anticipated debut in the United States at some point in 2023, as it is predicted to exceed expectations in the Mexican market. The canned cocktail will contain 5% ABV and Coca-Cola has asserted that it will be marketed to the appropriate demographic despite its packaging looking akin to a non-alcoholic can of soda.

Interestingly enough, this new Jack and Coke isn’t the first canned cocktail that Coca-Cola has added to its portfolio. Coca-Cola also teamed up with MolsonCoors in order to introduce Topo Chico Hard Seltzer and Simply Spiked Lemonade. The company is also teaming up with Corona’s parent company Constellation Brands to release a series of spiked Fresca soda beverages. The plethora of new releases is representative of the growing popularity of canned cocktails. Coca-Cola has recognized this trend and is making a focused effort to claim a space in the emerging market.
