The Sogdians were instrumental in the exchange of goods and culture along the Silk Road, connecting China with the Mediterranean. Residing in what is now Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, they thrived from the 6th century BCE to the 11th century CE.

Known for their exceptional skills in trade and diplomacy, the Sogdians facilitated the spread of religions, languages, and artistic traditions. Their influence is still evident in the diverse cultural exchanges that took place along the Silk Road.
