The Kingdom of Kush, situated in Nubia (modern-day Sudan), thrived from around 780 BCE to 350 CE. Known for its powerful queens and rich gold resources, Kush was a formidable rival to ancient Egypt.

The kingdom’s capital, Meroë, became a center of iron production and trade, boasting impressive pyramids and temples. Despite its eventual decline, the Kingdom of Kush left a regal legacy, shaping the history and culture of northeastern Africa for centuries.
